Top best foods to eat daily

Food is a daily necessity but in the era of fast food and processed sugar are we really eating the right kinds of food daily? There are quite a few foods that we do not always know about or think are important which is why in this article, there will be some foods that are great to include in any person’s diet anytime! There will also be an explanation as to why these foods are good to eat and how to incorporate them into any meals or diets.

The first foods that I would recommend incorporating into your daily delight are antioxidant-rich foods. Antioxidants are a substance that can inhibit oxidation (a chemical reaction that may cause damage to cells) and so these are super important to include into a normal diet. All fruits and vegetables are great antioxidant-rich foods, but what I would like to emphasize here are foods that are highly pigmented foods. These include beets, turmeric and berries. These foods are great to include in any diet because their antioxidants help to protect bodies from cell damage. Some ways to add these into your diet include adding them to your yogurt, smoothie or oatmeal. These are just some of the ways to incorporate these vibrant foods for a healthier and more colorful diet.

Healthy fats are also a crucial part of a well rounded healthy diet. Fats are amazing for our skin, brain, joints and for combating ailments like inflammation. Special attention here should be on Omega-3 fatty acids. Some sources of fat include hemp seeds, chia seeds, flax seeds, nuts, eggs, fish, coconut, olives and avocado. There are also plenty of options out there for plant and animal sources of fat. Great ways to include healthy fats are in smoothies ( seeds, nuts, coconut oils or even avocado), oatmeal, yogurt, salads and seafood/fish are great ways to get healthy fats in a diet.

The next foods that should be included in a diet are fermented foods. Fermented foods are some of the greatest sources of probiotics (friendly bacteria) which can be difficult to find. These are really important for supporting your immune system and gut health. Different kinds of probiotics also help to produce vitamins in our body. These fermented foods include: sauerkraut, kimchi, homemade or store-bought yogurt (with live cultures), or kombucha. I usually like to enjoy these as a side dish or meal that I am eating.

Following fermented foods are dark leafy greens. There are so many kinds of greens to choose from and these are so important since they are rich in minerals and contain calcium and magnesium. Dark leafy greens are also rich in antioxidants. These pigmented colors will help with the most amount of antioxidants. Salads are not the only way to include these into your diet, as these can be eaten with breakfast, lunch and dinner by adding them to scrambled eggs, sautéing them, putting them in a salad, adding them into a smoothie, adding them into a stew or adding them into a dish, like a stir-fry.

The next super foods are herbs that just spring with flavor! Different herbs contain so many different medicinal properties and this is why you can find many herbal teas and remedies. Herbs like cilantro, basil, rosemary, thyme or mint are so wonderful to use in meals especially when they are fresh. Cilantro can be used in homemade salsa or guacamole, while rosemary or thyme can be enjoyed in a soup. Mint is also the perfect way to make fresh tea at home. Basil can be used for fresh homemade pesto. If something tastes bland, herbs can be added for extra flavor.

Another food to eat daily are fast foods that provide tons of benefits! Not the fast foods from places like McDonald’s or Chick-Fil-A, I am talking purely about foods that are in their whole form that come already in their own natural “package”. These are easy grab-and-go snacks and they are the best things to eat because they are so easy to implement into your diet because you can grab them on the way to work or school or eat them at home in less than five minutes! These include: navel oranges, clementine's, apples, bananas or other fruits that have edible skin on them like a peach, plum, apricot or avocado! Also, boiled eggs, nuts and seeds are amazing too! These can be enjoyed with literally anything, anytime. These can be an afternoon pick-me-up or a late night dessert that will keep your body happy.

Lastly, a super important food is local in-season produce. When we eat locally and what is in season for us, we are not only supporting farmers, but our local economy and our environment. We are also eating foods that are fresher, more local, more nutritious and taste a lot better. If you are ever unsure about what is in season

in your area, simply search it up, but usually towards summer time many more fruits are in season like berries, cherries, rhubarb and so much more! These foods that I have mentioned will add lots of variety in your diet and will make your foods so much more healthy and vibrant. They are absolutely the most amazing foods to add in. Enjoy!
